Goodbye Leno Hello Conan Welcome Fallon

Late Nigh Jimmy FallonIn a bold move NBC announced the near future replacement of the number one late night host Jay Leno – promoting Conan. Months of rumors are now confirmed. Late night television is going to be shaken up. The new lineup is going to be “The Tonight Show” with Conan O'Brien, followed by “Late Night” with Jimmy Fallon. What is in store for the future of Jay Leno, is the question. Is it too soon to say: Goodbye Leno. Hello Conan. Welcome Fallon.

Mr. Jay Leno has made it very clear he is not happy about being bumped to clear way for Conan. Johnny Carson retired on his own terms, but it doesn't look like Leno is ready to call it quits. According to the NY Daily Times, Leno could jump to ABC or Fox.

What we found funny was the comment Conan took on the chin – though probably not delivered that way - by Jimmy Fallon's former SNL boss Lorne Michaels, who will be Jimmy Fallons producing partner.

”This is going to be a much more planned and orderly transition. Jimmy is known and already liked, and I think that will make it easier.” - Looking back at when Conan O'Brien took over for David Lettermen in 1993.

Conan, we are sure, looks at this with a different perspective. He has the last laugh; becoming a late night show host sensation.

Jimmy Fallon is probably best known for his amazing duo with SNL co-host Tina Fey in the popular comedy bit “Weekend Update”. Fallon also starred as the fanatical Boston Red Sox fan and boyfriend to Drew Barrymore in the baseball comedy romance film “Fever Pitch” in 2005.

So what did the newly annointed soon-to-be “Late Night” host have to say? Funny and lovingly, he reminds us Conan fans of how we first fell in love with Conan:

"I hope to make it the best show and a great show to fall asleep during."
